CEMENTED CARBIDE POWDER BLENDS

Pacific Particulate Materials (PPM) Ltd. produces cemented carbide (hardmetal)  and cermet powder blends with or without wax. Cemented carbide powder blends are considered to have the greatest resistance to simple abrasive wear and therefore to have many application in wear resistant parts, as well as machining and metalcutting tools.

PPM Ltd. offers four basic groups of customized cemented carbide powder blends for customers.  We have also provided examples of applications for each group below:

Group I : Tungsten carbide powder blended with a cobalt binder (cobalt content range from about 6 to around 30 %). Example: Tools for rock drilling, drill bits for mining and oil industry, geological prospecting, coal-mining and granite processing etc.

Group II : Tungsten Carbide powder blended with a nickel binder (nickel content around 6%). Example: Cost effective solution compare to cobalt binder cemented carbide parts, with a higher corrosion resistance for wood cutting tools.

Group III : Tungsten carbide powder blended a with cobalt binder (cobalt content range from about 3 to around 13 %) and grain-growth inhibiting carbides. Example: Metal cutting tools.

Group IV : Titanium Carbide powder blended with nickel and/or molybdenum binders. Binder content custom tailored to suit application. Example: applications requiring lighter weight alloys with higher resistance to wear, corrosion and oxidation than tungsten carbide.

We have extensive experience and are familiar with the requirements of domestic and international cemented carbide powder blends customers. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our capable and experience engineering staff.  Samples for qualification are available upon request.
